L.K. Jordan was awarded an incredible 8 awards in 2019 by local business journals! These are truly a testament to our growth and success that we have seen over the years. Employee Loyalty Program
L.K. Jordan has consistently had an incredible Employee of the Month program but we wanted to be able to reach and celebrate even more of our amazing employees. We began our quarterly Employee Loyalty Program in 2019 and it has been a huge success so far! Employees just have to meet a tier of different goals and if their name is drawn for their branch then they are rewarded with L.K. Jordan swag! For 200 hours they receive a drawstring backpack, 400 hours gets them a reusable water bottle and with 600 hours they could get a softstyle t-shirt! We will be continuing this in 2020 and are really excited to see how it grows from there!
Employee Give Back Program – Jeans for Means
We are fortunate enough to work with some pretty incredible people that love donating money as much as we do! Jeans for Means is an employee-funded give back program that employees can opt in to participating in. If they decide to partake then they can wear jeans each Friday in exchange for $5 each week. At the end of 6 months the money from all employees goes into a pool and a rotating branch decides which local nonprofit to donate the proceeds to. This year we were able to donate to 2 incredible organizations.
Kieschnick House
Corpus Christi chose the Kieschnick House as the January 2019 recipient. L.K. Jordan employees raised an amazing $5,800 and our CEO/Founder, Linda Jordan and President, Leslie Jordan raised it to an incredible $10,000! The Kieschnick Guest House is owned by the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System Foundation and acts as a special “home away from home” for families that have loved ones in a CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital. The Guest House is located across the street from one of the hospitals and has 19 guest rooms, each with a private bath and access to a central living room. This House is provided as a community service for families at a minimal donation of $25 per night (to defray routine maintenance).
Houston Area Women’s Center
In July 2019, the Houston branch was able to choose the Houston Area Women’s Center as the recipient of our employee raised funds. We donated $5,500 to this incredible staple in our local community. Since 1977, HAWC has worked relentlessly to help survivors affected by domestic and sexual violence build lives free from the effects of violence. They believe that all individuals should have equal access to political, legal, economic, and social rights. HAWC strives to create a community (especially for women) that embraces diversity, recognizes oppression, promotes empowerment and supports the right of all individuals to self-determination.
What a year 2019 has been! We look forward to continuing being a staple in our communities and assisting people find jobs they love with people they love to work with!
