Jeans for Means Donation – Houston Food Bank

Jeans for Means is the incredible employee-funded give back program that L.K. Jordan & Associates launched in 2013. Our employees donate $5 from each paycheck into the Jeans for Means fund in exchange for wearing jeans on Fridays, and L.K. Jordan donates the collected funds to worthy charities that directly impact our local communities in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Houston and Austin, Texas. Since its inception, L.K. Jordan & Associates has donated over $75,000 to 15 organizations and counting!!

This time, it was the Houston branch’s turn to pick a well-deserving and local non-profit that would be the recipient of our employees donation. The Houston Food Bank is near and dear to our hearts and we are thrilled to have donated $4,000 from our generous employees.

Founded in 1982, the Houston Food Bank has worked tirelessly to address the issue of food insecurity in and around the city of Houston. There are nearly 1 million people in the 18 southeast Texas counties served by the Houston Food Bank that are considered food insecure, meaning they lack consistent access to enough nutritious food to fuel a healthy life.

It takes more than food to achieve long-term stability, and the Food Bank provides a variety of programs to meet those needs including the Community Assistance Program (CAP), Food for Change, and the Senior Box Program, just to name a few! This incredible organization continues to make a difference in Houston communities, and we are excited to continue partnering with them as we move into the future.

We are incredibly honored to have gifted the Houston Food Bank $4,000 from our Jeans for Means fund. This is something that they will be able to use immediately and we hope to help them again in the future.
