COVID-19 Unemployment Assistance F.A.Q.

Here is a list of our most frequently asked unemployment assistance questions regarding COVID-19 and the answers to help guide you.
  • When I file for unemployment assistance, who do I put for my employer? Please put L.K. Jordan & Associates as your employer.
  • What do I do if I am quarantined or waiting for my test results to come back? If you are either quarantined or waiting for test results, you have two options. You can either file a:
  1. Temporary Layoff
  2. Reduction of Hours
Since this is a fluid situation that is constantly evolving, there may not be a “COVID-19” specific reason, but there should be a text box that you can type in that it was COVID-19 related.
Please remember that it is important to stay at home until the quarantine period is over or you have a negative test, then it is acceptable to return to work.
  • I’m having trouble filing an unemployment claim online. Understandably, the Texas Workforce Commission’s website is seeing a high volume of visitors. They recommend using the the online portal between 10:00PM and 8AM to have the best experience.
